The teachers’ calendar

Add every lesson of your school year to your online calendar

Online calendars are a great way to keep yourself organised…

Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook are even more powerful if your school uses them for the central calendar, too

  • Available anywhere, at any time, on any device
  • Can send you notifications so you never miss a meeting, etc
  • Share with others so you can find a common time to meet
  • Is quick and easy to set-up and use
  • Uses familiar, easy to access, free software

…easily set up by uploading a calendar file of your timetable

Works equally well in Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook

Creation service

The example/template offered for download above is straightforward to customise if you are familiar with spreadsheets. However, it can be time-consuming to complete for the 1000 or so lessons a full-time teacher delivers in a year!

If you would prefer, I can create your bespoke ready-made calendar file for you. The service costs £20 and all I need is details of your timetable and school day/year. I’ll send you back a complete bespoke calendar file ready for upload within 3 days.

Teachers’ planner included

As a bonus, your calendar file will include a teachers’ planner to help you plan your time exceptionally efficiently.

Important tip

When uploading your calendar file to your calendar, it is always a good idea to create a new “Timetable” calendar rather than uploading it to your general calendar. This is because it is easy to add 1000 events in bulk, but very difficult to remove or edit them one by one if your timetable every changes (e.g. even something as minor as a room change).

Phone widget

A less obvious advantge of adding your timetable to your calendar is that it allows you to then show your timetable as a widget on your phone screen.

I use an app called Event Flow Calendar Widget for this. (I have no connection with them, but do find their app very useful!)

Feedback

After you’ve used the template or the creation service, please come back and let me know what you think. Has adding your timetable to your calendar made you more organised?
